written (or to write)

We stand on the burial ground of all our dead ideas.
Those feelings discarded by bit and bleeding tongues.
The things we've always wanted for ourselves, but said no.
Everything fallen.
“She'll never like you, she's too good for you”
“You don't know the answer. Don't talk”
“Don't tell them. They won't love you. Not again”
“Don't commit. You'll only be hurt”
Shot down soldiers from the smoldering bullets of our own doubt.
Yes, we massacre as much of ourselves as much as possible.
We'd rather assume we are bad than good.

But self destruction is the destruction of yourself,
and someone else loves yourself.
Someone is knocking to hear the true beat of your feeling machine.
No longer dismantle yourself.
Do not take away that someone's favorite thing to look at.

Instead, let loose the broken straps of your heart and spill guts on the floor.
Sit down to write, pencil shaking to your pulse
and dance back the dead.
Give your desires mouth to mouth.
Give your heart recognition.
Give the dark your hand.
Flood the graveyard till the bodies rise.
Let it flow from the tips of tips of your fingers tips.
Don't contain your laugh
Don''t contain your love
Don't contain the childish things inside you.
Stand on heaping piles of failure and let loose on the world.
Whip out your crazy and wipe the shit from your shoes.
It most likely came from your brain
and out your own mouth when you said you weren't good enough.
do not hide your love,
do not hide your weirdness,
do not hide your you.
Sit down to write and do not destroy yourself a second longer.

Remember no one hates anyone more than you hate yourself.
And then forget how to hate.
Angels often come from recovered monsters who got sick of scary things.

wearing diapers

you are big. i am small
living in this world sans pee
You: tall, spotty. and me

new to life, i am green
to knowledge, experience,
and learning to be free

just in time, you are here
to teach about bed wetting
and why i love to pee

Media Machine

Lies are apart of culture.
We cannot change that.

…......

Come here, let me lick your ear with my truth.
You can trust the Media Machine, for Im the only way to know the world.
I give you information in exchange for your belief.
Scoot closer, let the glow of my screen keep you warm in your thoughts.

…....

If you can, stray from cynicism. It is the death of hope.
But keep doubt readied at your hip.
Learn to have a discerning eye.
Don't be afraid of research.
Get your hands filthy with empathy. Learn both sides.

…..

Come closer, I can fill you in on all things needed.
I'll help you impress your friends. I'll help you argue in smart debate.
I'll keep you up to date.
I'll be there for you whenever you need.
You turn me on, I'll fill you up.
Trust me.

….

Fear inactivity. Don't settle for what you're told.
Instead, mix knowledge with experience.
Make a bowl of your heart and mind
and stir.
Trust yourself. Trust your body. Trust you know what is best. What is good.

…...

Move in, let me teach you.
I objectively filter information for your benefit.
I know what is best for you. What is good for you.
I know.

….

Most of the time we will not know the lies being told to us.
We look lovers in the eye while they tell us fiction.

Our parents impart partial truths to keep us safe.
Lies are apart of culture.
We cannot change this.
It is a sad truth.

Im sorry.
I've lied too.
I have.
A lot.
Not here, in this short bit, but in life.
A lot.

…..

So who can you trust, if not me?
The world has built deceit.
You see, listen, come closer, I'll help you.
I'll tell you. I'll be there for you.

Ned

Scene 1: Ned the Lonely Pear

Hi! I’m Ned
Want to sit next to me on the bus?
Want to play a game?

More formally I am  known as:
Nincompoop
Eating
Decipherables
You probably know me as:
The Cat That Got Your Tongue.
Clearly, I am not a cat. I am a pear
and you can call me Ned.

Let’s play my favorite game:
word bank.
You know how to play?
Where I take your thought bubble (like this)
eat all the nouns
scramble the verbs
serve them to you and you
spit out something.
You know that one friend?

“want...go...can...said...hungry...”

Scene 2: Nei the Hard Core

Hey. I am Nei.

More formally known as:
Nincompoop
Eaten by
Indecipherables.
You probably know me as Ned the lonely pear.
But, clearly, I am not a pear. I am a hard core.
I only eat pronouns.I do not play games.

Take the Kingdom

the blood dripping from the fingers is only a sub-problem second to the taste
that's what happens when one is an activist vampire in this world
nothing makes too much sense

developing a solid foot to stand on:
if one is eating wind there is no sustenance
if one is eating blood the world judges

and when i stand on a podium to burn pages the politicians will throw the book at me

i remember a much simpler time
before the bible
before space travel
before film and instillation art and Mtv

i remember when i was an animal and there were no pages to burn

However...

The truth:
I have sort of always enjoyed Mtv
Especially in the 90's

a message to a friend:

...says the mountaintop, but the dates are rocky.  Much like that one time in Vegas when we thought we had a plan.  Ahah! See, that is always my point.  Being of the antelope family, I never forget.  The history books got it wrong.  Elephants are blow-fish with legs.  They have practically no brains.  But we didn't start this conversation to be mean, did we?  Let's talk logistics; I'll meet you by the carousel at Epcot in Orlando, Florida where species just like yours and mine have been suffering for decades.  Now, I'm traveling via carrier pigeon so it's going to take me a while to get there.  Meantime, mind your P's and Q's and always look both ways at 'Duck Walk' in Chicago.  They have the best chain Thai food in town and I don't want you to mess this up.  Remember 1973 at Sonny's BBQ In New Hampshire.  Or was it 1985 at Flaco's in Gainesville, Texas.  Either way, I think you see my point.

Now I have never loved and loathed as I do you.  Take that as a compliment.  Pray for sanity.  Hope for love.  And forever be AWESOME.

Yours truly,

"You will hardly know who I am or what I mean."

Beyond golden shoulders

behind her all is nothingbut goldenand through the tipof my nostrilsI can only sense as much.
what it is with her I cannever know
everything simply a
secretbehind her shoulder.
behind her all is everythingbut goldenand we can wispthrough colorsand nightslike thunderlike lightningand never knowthe differences thatexistbetween one another.
behind her all is relativebehind her all is retained
behind her all is simplebut complicatedand drowningin the golden burnsof reality.
a haze which doesn'twash offin the rain.

woman

thoughts exude
her energy; a prelude
to the grace that exceeds
any and all
of her many curves

shaping me to her liking
i find my place
she is everything
any and all
i could ever need

another intervenes
i share not
she holds to me
any and all
that i am capable of giving

her thoughts undecipherable
that's okay
her spirit; undeniable
any and all
woman

"Fashion"

Everybody's got
a peacock's moronic pride
'cause their clothes are hip

by a string

and my fire is a flower
continuous
something opened
there is no closing it

thinking about your first fight?
the first hunt
kill
prayer
tear

that's what this is about
right?

mind

it was you
pretty girl
who taught me to evaporate
who showed me the skin beneath the veins
that deserves all recognition

i never painted my own spirit
and i never will
which is where my promises come in
can you hold them?
how is your heart availability?
is there room for an old bodied young soul?
will you dance sans moonlight?

i am a coward of questions

although
you are quite the siren
standing there
unaffected by my fire
holding the tail of a lioness
by a string no less
will you tell my story?
or should i wait for the next beautiful dream of a woman in a white dress bearing a wild beast to come along?

i prefer you
